Remembering Ignatius
Ignatius Joseph Young was born on July 22, 1960, in Newfoundland. He came from Sheaves Cove and was the son of the late Dugald and Maud (Jesso) Young.
For many years, Ignatius worked with Diamond Taxi. He was a gifted artist and enjoyed drawing and spending time on his computer.
Ignatius died on September 12, 2026, at Loch Lomond Village. He is remembered by his children, Krystal Jesso of Saint John and John Barter (Stacey Moore) of Newfoundland. He is also remembered by his grandchildren, Jax, Jonathan, Adrian and Leland, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Ignatius was one of a large Newfoundland family. He was predeceased by his parents; his brothers, Harvey, Nolan, Brennan, Richard, Leonard, Hyacinthe and Roddie Young; his sisters, Nina, Florence, Blanche, Audrey and Eileen; and his brothers-in-law, Leonard Cornect, Junior Wheeler, Paul Moore and Philip Benoit. His siblings also included Morris and Eddie Young, Susan Young, Dorothy Wheeler and Rita Benoit.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of Willow House at Loch Lomond Village for the kindness, care and compassion they gave to Ignatius.
A return home
In keeping with Ignatius's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private graveside service will be held later in Newfoundland, where he will be laid to rest with his parents.
